Ogden River Parkway, Exit 341. Ten minutes or less off the highway. There are several access points, this will take you to Ogden River Kayak Park

Free, sunrise to sunset, pets allowed, foot and bike traffic only. Restaurants, gas, the works.

This is Utah, so hikes abound. I'm sure if you just drove up into the mountains you'd find numerous more glamorous hikes, but this is right in town, flat, paved, and easy. There are a few places where, if the river is up, the trail floods. I went about a mile in each direction of the Slackwater Pub and Pizza access and it is quite nice. Check the River Parkway link above for more access points. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photo, martinis are prohibited.
